St. Ignatius 3, Arlee 1
At St. Ignatius this past Saturday, Sept. 20th, the visiting Scarlets took the first set in convincing fashion, then pushed the host Lady Bulldogs to extras in the third, but were unable to pull off a cross classification coup. Mission got a big game from Lindsay Johnson with 11 kills and a pair of blocks, with Jordyn Eichert setting the table with 25 assists.
The Scarlets received a half dozen kills from Morgan Malatare, a quartet of aces from Violet Pablo and 15 digs from Kaylee Samsel. Both teams were sizzling at the service line, combining for over 30 aces.
St. Ignatius (4-2) will have already hosted 6B Loyola this past Tuesday and travels to Bigfork this Thursday the 25th. Arlee (4-2) will have already tangled with cross country rival Charlo this Tuesday past and hosts visiting Noxon this Thursday the 25th.

At St. Ignatius this past Thursday the 18th, the visiting 7B Lady Wardens swept the first two sets from host Mission, forcing the Lady Bulldogs to rally from a deficit with their backs against the wall to prevail in the fifth and ferocious finale that stretched into extras. Mission got a big game from Lindsey Johnson who spiked a dozen kills, while Jordyn Eichert set the table with the lions share of assists, dug out 21 digs as well as served up a pair of aces.
St. Ignatius extends their record to 3-2 overall, remaining at 2-0 in 6B.

At Hot Springs this past Saturday, Sept. 20th, the visiting Lady Vikings iced the first two sets, but that wasn’t enough to cool off the Savage Heat who pushed the third set into extras before succumbing to a sweep by their 10C visitors. Sienna Brown led Charlo with 14 kills, Ashley Tryon served up 4 aces and Mikaylan Roylance set the table with 17 assists. Charlo (5-0, 5-1 overall) will have hosted a cross county clash with visiting Arlee this past Tuesday, then travels to Superior to participate in the Superior Tournament this Saturday the 27th.

At St. Regis, the visiting Two Eagle River Lady Eagles got a huge game out of Tyra Michel, who tallied 8 spikes, 3 aces, 6 blocks as well as 6 assists, but the host Lady Tigers were successful in defending their territory nonetheless in this District 10C showdown.
Two Eagle (0-5) travels to Noxon on Friday the 26th, then are scheduled to participate in the Mineral County Tournament on Saturday the 27th.

At Arlee this past Thursday, Sept. 18th, the host Scarlets dominated the first and last matches, but the visiting Savage Heat sizzled in the second game, pushing the pace into extras before the Scarlets emerged from the fracas with the advantage.
Violet Pablo and Morgan Malatare combined for over half of their team kills, while Becca Whitesell set the table with 19 assists as well as pitched in with a trio of blocks. Arlee extended their record to 3-1 in District 10C, 4-1 overall with the victory.

Kats claw Lady Pirates

At Polson this past Saturday, the host Lady Pirates battled their best to counter the height advantage of the visiting Wildkat towering front line, but came out on the short end in straight sets.
The first game was tied a half dozen times or so in the early going, but the Kats clawed their way to a 15-21 advantage before the Lady Pirates put together a little run, closing the gap to within three at 21-24 before CFalls iced the set. In the second game after a couple of ties with the score deadlocked 10-10, the Kats put distance between the scores on the scoreboard to win the second set handily. The third game traded leads in the early going and tied at 4 apiece before the Kats nudged ahead 9-13. The Lady Pirates battled their way back to knot the score up again at 15 apiece with middle hitter Nicole Lake contributing some of her quartet of kills in that game. After a Haley Fyant kill and a Libby “Can Ya Dig It” Clay ace, Polson eeked ahead 17-16, only to see the score swing the other way 18-19 on a Cydney Finberg spike and a Morgan Stengar stuff by CFalls.
The Kats edged ahead by three, but a pair of back to back spiking errors and a Taylor “Run This Court” Rost kill tied the set up once again at 21 apiece. The remainder of the game fluctuated between a 1-2 point advantage for CFalls before a net violation cut the gap to 23-24, but the Lady Pirates could not capitalize on any further momentum shifts as the visitors closed out the set as well as captured the match. Haley “the Hurricane” Fyant led the Lady Pirates with 14 kills, with Lydia “Does It All” Dupuis pitching in a quintet. Newly christened homecoming queen Jaiden “Just Do It” Toth set the table with two dozen assists and contributed 20 digs, with 9 of them coming in the third set by this observers tally. Taylor “Digs It All” Davis excavated out another 14 digs. The Lady Pirates (0-2, 1-3) travel to Whitefish this Thursday the 25th, then play host to visiting Libby on Friday the 26th.

Maidens tame Trotters
Ronan 3, Plains 1
At Ronan this past Saturday, the host Maidens picked up their first win of the season as they jumped out to a 2-0 advantage, then held off a charge by the visiting Lady Trotters of Plains.
Kendra Starkel and McKenzie Dulmes combined for 16 kills and Sydnee Clairmont along with Jordyn Clairmont set the table with 17 assists. Starkel and Jordyn Clairmont had hot hands at the service line, combining for 14 aces in the victory.
Plains setter Kim Earhart held serve for 11 straight points in the third set from point 5-16 in the Trotter lone match victory.
