ROSEMARY HOULE JACKSON KUGLER

Rosemary Houle Jackson Kugler died unexpectedly in her sleep on August 14, at the age of 77.  She was born the youngest of seven in St. Ignatius on December 4, 1937 to Fredrick J. Houle and Hellen E. (Winslow) Houle. 

She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband Ward Kugler, brothers Fred Houle, Jr. and Bob Houle, her sisters June Dullaghan and Lois Dupuis, infant son Ronnie, and grandson Chistopher Weivoda.

She is survived by her sisters Allene Cole of Dixon and Lora (Jim) Cole of Finley Point; children Ramona (Bud) Lynch of Round Butte, Darlene (Craig) Elverud of Chester, Carolyn (Chuck) Weivoda of Pablo, Curtis Jackson of Pablo, and Keith Jackson of Ronan; step children Brian (Patti) Kugler of Polson, and Suzette Kugler of Alaska. She also had 16 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter not to mention numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends.

She was raised as a young girl in the Pablo area and later attended high school in Ronan where she was a huge part of the class of 1956. She married Cecil Jackson and together they had six children in the Round Butte area. They later divorced and she married Ward Kugler and became stepmother to two more. 

Over her lifetime she proudly wore many professional and personal hats. Some of which included mother, grandmother, and successful business owner and entrepreneur.  

After  “retirement” she began her new winter life in Yuma, Arizona. 

Rose was a woman that was looked up to and admired by many. 

She led a life full of adventure and was always looking for her next road trip. 

Services will be held at the Ronan Community Center on Friday, August 21 from 11 to 2 p.m. – lunch will be provided.  

A private family burial will follow at the family ranch.
