Man alleged to be making threats against law enforcement Saturday
Lake and Sanders county law enforcement officers began rushing to the Dixon area at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday after learning a man was making threats about physically harming law enforcement officers, according to emergency scanner traffic.
The call was placed from Sanders County but received at the Lake County Emergency Dispatch Center, Don Bell, Lake County Sheriff said. The caller told dispatchers that a man was making threats about shooting other people in a private home.
Lake County dispatchers contacted Sanders County emergency dispatchers immediately. Sanders County dispatchers assigned its law enforcement agencies to the scene and asked for Lake County's mutual aid, Bell said.
The Lake County Sheriff's office dispatched two deputies to the scene. Meanwhile, multiple Montana Highway Patrol Troopers also heard the active call and responded to the scene, he said.
Once law enforcement arrived at the location of the man said to be making threats, they found that the man fled the scene.
Lake County Sheriff's deputies were returned to regular duty and further follow up will be performed at the direction of Sanders County law enforcement officials since the incident is in their jurisdiction.
