Literacy Center of Northwest Montana has two upcoming seminars.

The first is Feb. 4 from 6-8pm at Gateway Community Center, Suite 30.

Grammar Refresher It’s hard to remember back to middle school, but that’s probably when we learned about sentence fragments and run-ons, subject-verb agreement, and the proper use of commas, colons, and semi-colons. Often when we write, we know what sounds and looks right, without understanding why. This workshop will help you remember the “why” of grammar. Leave with practical and easy to remember rules for checking and correcting sentences, verb agreement, commas, colons, and semi-colons. Kathy Dunnehoff, national bestselling and Zola award winning author has taught writing at FVCC for over 20 years. Call 257-7323 to RSVP.

Literacy Center of NW Montana (formerly Literacy Volunteers of Flathead County) will offer a general volunteer training on February 21 at the Gateway Community Center from 9-1pm.  Training is open to the general public and will discuss the organization’s mission and provide a general overview of adult education, a profile of prospective learners and conclude with instruction regarding learning activities/strategies that can be used during initial tutoring sessions. Please call 406-257-7323 to RSVP and/or if you have any questions.
