The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Lake County will have a presentation Jan. 31 in Polson and Ronan for this year’s event.

The event offers information about sponsoring the event, forming a team, attending the survivor dinner or joining the committee. Any teams that sign up before or during the event will be entered in a drawing to win $100 to be credited to their team’s fundraising amount.

The meeting is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at both Polson Wal-Mart and Ronan Harvest Foods.

Relay for Life brings local businesses, schools, churches, community groups and families together to raise awareness and raise funds to fight cancer.

While the main objective of Relay For Life is to raise money for cancer research and cancer patients, the event helps spread cancer awareness, celebrate the lives of survivors, remember those who lost their lives to cancer and unite a community in the fight against cancer.

“Attending our kickoff event is a way for people who have never relayed before to find out about Relay for Life, and those who have participated to learn about exciting changes and progress Relay for Life and ACS have made since last year’s event,” event chair Karen Dellwo said.

This year’s Relay for Life will be July 10 at the Ronan Sports Complex from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m.
