Sidewalk projects planned in Polson

Montana Department of Transportation is seeking public comment on a proposal to build sidewalks in Polson.

The state is proposing to build approximately 1,050 feet of sidewalk along the south side of Fourth Avenue East in Polson.  

The project begins at the corner of Fourth Avenue East and Fourth Street, adjacent to Linderman Elementary School, and extends east for three blocks ending at Seventh Street. The project will also include minor curb and gutter replacement in conjunction with Americans with Disabilities Act compliant sidewalk ramps, a curb extension at the Seventh Street intersection, and retaining walls to retain existing earth embankments.

Construction is tentatively planned for the fall of 2015.
