In the second quarter, Butte Central got things going on a four yard run from Blake Burton to put six on the board. After half, the Pirates were backed up into their own red zone on a third and long when Wilson aired one out for Rensvold down the middle of the field. Rensvold made a 39-yard diving catch, and a few minutes later, ran the ball in from two yards out to give Polson their only points of the quarter. In the fourth quarter, Butte Central would run another one in to make the score 14-20, but that was as close as they would get, as Wilson ran 62 yards for a touchdown soon after.

Defensively, the Pirates intercepted Butte Central four times. That included one by both Jacob Harrod and Jonah Burke. Wilson had two, and almost had another, but was called out of bounds. In the play immediately after that one, Harrod picked one off. Wilson’s first actual interception came with just over a minute left in the game, and the second came with 10 seconds left to seal the deal for the Pirates. Another notable defensive play for the Pirates was a deflected pass by Wyatt Ducharme on fourth down that stopped a Butte Central red zone drive during the first quarter.

Wilson was 10-21 for 227 yards and a touchdown through the air. He also rushed 19 times for 175 yards and a touchdown. Rensvold had two rushing touchdowns and four receptions for 120 yards and another touchdown.

RONAN 30  LOYOLA 38

Ronan hosted Loyola for their senior night on Friday night. The Chiefs were coming off an exciting win the week before against Florence. It was another exciting game for the hometown crowd. Loyola scored the only points of the first quarter, and Ronan struck back in the second on a 16-yard pass from Kasey Mock to Tyler Houle. Mock threw another to Ezekiel Misa for a 59-yard TD to make the score 16-7. Loyola would answer with two scores of their own to make the score 21-16 at halftime. After halftime, Loyola scored on a one-yard run before Josh Morgan ran in from 65 yards for the Chiefs. Loyola scored two more times to put them up 38-22 going into the fourth. Ronan came back with a pass from Mock to Aaron Misa to put them within eight. After a good defensive stand, Ronan again drove the ball down the field, all the way to the three yard line with just minutes to play. Mock threw a pass to the back of the end zone that was caught, and it looked like the Chiefs had tied the game up, but a flag for an ineligible receiver down field negated the touchdown and Loyola came out on top, 38-30.

Kasey Mock was 12 for 23 with 155 yards and three touchdowns through the air. Josh Morgan ran the ball 20 times for 208 yards and a touchdown.

Ronan travels to Deer Lodge on Friday.
