Scout's honor: falling for community service
Three combined Boyscout packs shared a late afternoon roll in the leaves Oct. 22 when they gathered at a Polson home to help the homeowner pick up yard leaves.
The combined packs that represented Tiger, Wolf, Weblow and Arrow of Light dens, are comprised of first through fifth-grade students.
Pack 4947 Assistant Cub Master Susan Clark said the 13 kids were participating in their annual fall clean up assistance program designed to help members of the community who are unable to rake their own fallen yard leaves.
This year, scouts visited five homes.
“The Scouts are all about helping folks out when and where we can,” Clark said. “If there is a member of our community who is unable to rake their yard, we would certainly do what we can to help.”
Clark said that if there are any boys who would like to become a Cub Scout, or adults who would like to help, the can contact Clark.
