Mission elementary and high schools lockdown is false alarm
Emergency responders are proceeding to St. Ignatius elementary and high schools after lock-down alarms sounded at both schools, scanner traffic reported at about 2:30 Friday.
Dispatch operators received notification of the dual alarms and called the high school, whose employees did not know why the alarms sounded. A call to the elementary school was unanswered, a dispatcher said.
As emergency personnel responded to the scene, the schools continued with their training to protect the roughly 250 kids in attendance.
Emergency dispatchers reported moments later they received a call from St. Ignatius School District that the alarms were false. Law enforcement continued to the scene to make sure everyone was safe.
After a complete search of the location, law enforcement officials confirmed the false alarm.
