MARVIN L. MARCY
Marvin L. Marcy, 71, went to be with the Lord surrounded by family and friends on Sept. 13.
Born in Butte in 1944 to the late Mason and Clarice Marcy, he moved to Missoula while still an infant and graduated from Missoula County High School in 1962, earned his Bachelor’s Degree at the University of Montana, and received a Masters Degree in Systems Management from Florida Institute of Technology.
Marv met and wed Connie McGee, the love of his life, in 1978. They were best friends, inseparable partners, and soul mates who worked closely together in service to the Lord and others. They made a wonderful team in all of
life’s adventures for 37 years.
Marv retired from the Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel. They moved to Hayden Lake, Idaho where they ran a successful business for ten years. In 2000, they retired again and became nomads, traveling the US in their RV. They established a home base on the hill south of Polson, overlooking Flathead Lake and the Mission Mountains.
Music was an essential part of Marv’s life from his earliest years, both as a musician and designer and builder of high-end audio/video systems. He was unusually gifted musically and played in numerous bands and entertained his family and friends throughout his life. Marv also had an innate ability to engineer creative solutions to just about any challenge. He had a heart of service and looked for ways to use those skills to help others.
Marv leaves behind his devoted wife Connie; son Scott (Amy) Marcy and their children, Mason and Isabelle; son Bryan (Nicole) Marcy and their children, Madison, Corbyn, Noah and Lilly; sister Susan (John) Brakefield; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.
Memorial Service and Honorary Tribute are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 19, at 2 p.m. at Saint Andrews Episcopal Church, 110 6th Ave E., Polson.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org).
