For Se?lis? Ksanka Ql?ispe? (Salish Kootenai Dam) Hydroelectric Project Operation for Flathead Lake
Representatives from Energy Keepers, Inc., NorthWestern Energy, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes, and Bureau of Indian Affairs conferred on July 26 regarding current and projected operation of the Seli’s? Ksanka Qlispe (formerly Kerr Dam) Project. The current outflow is about 6,380 cubic feet per second (cfs) and the lake elevation, as of July 31 at midnight was 2,892.6 feet. In July, the natural streamflow averaged 69 percent of average (historical data from 1981-2010). Precipitation accumulation was 124 percent of normal as measured by the National Weather Service at the dam . August’s natural inflow is forecasted to be 79 percent of normal. Current water supply forecasts show August-September at 82 percent of normal.
