Maurice (Maury) Jackson Mills

Maurice (Maury) Jackson Mills passed away on August 19.  He was born on March 28, 1929 in Conrad, Montana to Thomas and Mary Joseph Mills. He graduated from Shelby, Montana in 1948. Maury served in the US Navy from 1948 to 1957 and the US Air Force from 1957 to 1969. He was involved in the Korean, Vietnam, and the Cold Wars. During his service career he traveled throughout the world.

He is survived by his wife Monica at the family home, his daughter Denise, son Lee and wife Stephanie, his sister Judy and husband Ron Coulter, his brother Monte, and grandchildren; Jackson, Makayla, Cameron, Patrick, Nathan, and a great granddaughter.

Preceding him were his parents, two younger sisters Bobbie, and Joyce, and brother Thomas Jr. and two sons, Maurice Jr and Randel.

He was a life member of the VFW and DAV, a member of the American Legion, and he was a VFW State Commander.

A viewing took place at The Lake Funeral Home in Polson on Wednesday, August 24 from 5 to 7 p.m.

A memorial service will be held at the United Methodist Church of Polson on Thursday, August 25 at 10 a.m. The burial service will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.  Lunch will be served at the church afterward.
