Polson native named Idaho Conservation Officer of the Year
From Idaho Fish and Game
Idaho Department of Fish and Game Conservation Officer Greg Milner has been named the 2015 Conservation Officer of the Year. Stationed in Mountain Home, officer Milner was nominated for the honor by his peers who view him as an exceptionally well-rounded conservation officer who excels in all facets of the job.
Greg is the son of Clao and Peggy Milner of Polson. He graduated from Polson High School in 1988.
During his 14 years with the department, Milner has worked to protect the wildlife of Idaho, helped the public enjoy hunting and fishing opportunities and promoted wildlife professionalism. He continues to build relationships with sportsmen, the community of Mountain Home, local landowners and personnel from other agencies.
A hallmark of his personality, Milner excels in public outreach when contacting outdoor enthusiasts in the field. He also enjoys helping others learn to appreciate the out-of-doors and demonstrates this by volunteering for local schools, scout groups, fishing clinics, and hunter education classes.
Milner continues to demonstrate his big-picture commitment to wildlife, sportsmen and the hunting heritage through his enthusiastic efforts to protect and manage Idaho’s wildlife, working with ranchers and farmers on the land, and teaching ethics to the sporting public.
