Tribes qualified to make Medicaid determinations

| August 25, 2016 12:22 PM

The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribal Health is now set to make Medicaid eligibility determinations in an effort to enroll tribal health recipients applying for Medicaid in a more timely and convenient process.

The new authority delegates responsibility to Tribal Health to act in a manner similar to other state public assistance offices throughout Montana so that the department will perform functions related to the eligibility process.

Tribal health recipients between the ages of 19 to 64, with limited income and are not covered by Medicare, may qualify for health coverage under Montana Medicaid Expansion.

Tribal Health Medicaid Technicians will also enroll children. Former foster children are eligible for Medicaid up to the age of 26.

Contact one of the Medicaid Eligibility Technicians to see if you qualify.
