LOYANN (JEAN) MITCHELL

Loyann (Jean) Mitchell, 84, passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes on Nov. 12 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was of German and Swedish descent, born Nov. 21, 1931, to John and Helen Hermle of Juneau, Alaska, where she spent her childhood years. She married Eugene Mitchell (now deceased) and they raised a family of six children (Dennis, Laurie, Roger, Rick, Cindy and William), who gave her eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The family moved to Hot Springs in 1965 where Jean worked as a CNA at the local nursing home before moving to Polson in 1977, where she continued working as a CNA until 1996. She is also survived by her beloved brother John Hermle Jr. who still lives in Juneau. Jean had a wonderful sense of humor, was an amazing cook and was dearly loved by her family, many friends and everyone who met her. She will be profoundly and deeply missed by all whose lives she touched. In lieu of flowers, please donate in her memory to your local animal shelter.
