Dixon center hosting holiday events
We will have some events happening this month at the Dixon Senior Center, which we would like to invite our community to come to. On Saturday, Dec. 10, there will be a Dixon Community Dinner from 5 - 7 p.m. It will be a free meal of stew, fry bread, and a dessert. Bring your family and meet your neighbors and maybe some new friends.
On Thursday, Dec. 15, after the noon meal, we will have a Christmas party and a fun gift exchange. You may bring a gift, under $10, wrapped and marked for a man, woman, or either one. You’re not sure what you will end up with, as someone can “steal” your gift two times. You can bring some cookies to trade, if you like.
The menu for the rest of the month will be:
Thursday, Dec. 8: Huckleberry pancakes, sausage
Monday, Dec. 12: Breaded chicken
Thursday, Dec. 15: Christmas Dinner
Monday, Dec. 19: Chili, cornbread
Thursday, Dec. 22: Polish dogs, mac and cheese
Monday, Dec. 26: Salmon
Meals are served at 5:30 on Mondays and noon on Thursday. All ages are welcome, and take-home meals are available. Fruits, vegetables, (usually home-made bread), and dessert are served with the main dish.
If you are able to share in Christmas with children from Sanders County, a “Giving Tree” with the age and sex of several children is in our Center. Come when the center is open and pick out a star with the info and return a wrapped package by Monday, Dec. 19.
We have really lucked out with winter weather so far. There is a lot going on this time of year, including concerts, plays, craft and gift bazaars and special treats. Call a friend and try to get around and see what is available locally.
