Northwestern A Conference

The Polson Pirates reaped a half dozen all-state picks that were further enhanced with a pair of Player of the Year nominations. Four offensive all-state acknowledgements were conferred upon Griz-bound tandem Tanner Wilson along with his main target Matt Rensvold, running back Colton Cote and lineman Kabe Forman-Webster, with Wilson receiving offensive Player of the Year recognition.

Wilson wrapped up his prep career with 3128 yards passing, 1767 yards, his hands and/or feet involved in 64 TDs. Those figures would have been further bolstered had he not been sidelined early into his sophomore season. Wilson was also conferred with team offensive MVP, while at the defensive end wrapped up over a hundred career solo tackles.

Rensvold wrapped up his prep career with over 2000 yards of total career offense via air (rec 102-1757) supplemented by land (rush 83-442). Rensvold was also a beast at linebacker, where he racked up triple figure career tackles as well as assists (247t117a), thus drawing NWA defensive Player of the Year recognition along with being awarded team defensive MVP.

Cote rushed for close to a thousand yards this past season., while Forman-Webster anchored the offensive line so many of these things had the time to unfold.

At the defensive end of the spectrum, linebacker Jonah Burke and cornerback Cadis Chowning were conferred with all-state recognition. Burke crested the century plateau for career tackles (107t86a), while also receiving all-conference first team acknowledgement for offensive lineman.

All-state cornerback Chowning disrupted the trajectory of the pigskin among the teens that included a quintet of interceptions and eight tips (75t20a), also earning a first-team nod while being nominated to the second-team at wide receiver. Chowning was also received the Mr. Versatility team award to add to his Homecoming crowning.

Also receiving all-conference acknowledgement were Noah Humphrey (2nd-tm OG, most improved), Wyatt Goode (2nd-tm C), Trevor Corley (1st-tm NG), Haden Smith (1st-tm DE), Cameron Brown (2nd-tn LB ), Kyle Druyvestein (2nd-tm LB) and Koby Garcia (2nd-tm CB).

Western B Ronan Chiefs

The Ronan Chiefs placed a pair on the all-state list with Kasey Mock and Hap Cheff receiving recognition. Both UM-Western recruit Mock as well as Cheff also received all-conference acknowledgements, Mock at linebacker and Cheff at wide receiver.

Other conferees include Zeke Misa (1st-tm DB, 2nd-tm WR), Gray Cook (1st-tm OL, 2nd-tm DE), Brendon Blood (2nd-tm DB/ATH), Aaron Misa (1st-tm TE), Tyler Houle (2nd-tm LB) and Coleman Taylor (2nd-tm OL).

Western C Charlo Vikings

Sophomore Landers Smith racked up multiple accolades that included both offensive as well as defensive player of the year, all-state, along with dual all-conference first-team (QB, ILB) acknowledgments. Smith crested the millennial (1000+) plateau in both passing (1097) as well as rushing (1566) in the course of scoring three dozen TDs this season. Defensively, Smith intercepted a quartet, recovered a pair of fumbles along with causing another while leading the team in tackles with over fifty.

Jared Doty racked up over a thousand all-purpose yards on offense while contributing the second leading number of tackle assists at the defensive end. Trent Dennison was the second leading receiver, third leading rusher and second leading tackler for the Vikings. Zane Hafliger led the team in number of receptions (29-297). Kane Shenyer led the team in sacks (6.5), caused fumbles (3) while tied for the lead in fumble recoveries (3). Junior Chandler Krahn recovered a pair of fumbles along with causing another that included scoring a defensive touchdown. Tyson Petticrew led the team in interceptions (8) and had two key TD receptions in the Viking playoff win over Fairview. Brady Fryberger tied for lead in reception yardage on the season.

Western C Arlee Warriors

Warriors’ QB Tyler Tanner was conferred with all-state accolade acknowledement for his dual role at both ends of the field, also receiving a pair of all-conference nods, second team kudos at inside linebacker and honorable mention at quarterback. Joining Tanner in the all-conference parade were Rylan Crawford (1st-tm PR), Will Mesteth (2nd-tm RB), Colt Brazill (2nd-tm C) and George Shick (2nd-tm SB).
