Are you cold enough yet? It’s supposed to warm up to the 40s this week, and that almost sounds like a heat wave. At least we are getting the moisture that we need.

This Wednesday, Dec. 21 is our Christmas dinner here at the Mission Valley Senior Center. As usual, we will be serving at noon, and the cost is only $4 if you are age 60 or older. Our foot clinic is also on Wednesday, from 10 a.m. until noon. There is no cost for the foot clinic, but donations are always appreciated.

We here at the MVSC want to wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy yew year. May 2017 be a great year for all of us. Thank you for joining us for meals and for helping us with our fund raisers in 2016. With out your help, we would not be able to keep the doors to the center open.

Did you know that there are four stages to a mans life? In stage one, you believe in Santa Claus, in stage two, you don’t believe in Santa, in stage three, you are Santa and in stage four, you look like Santa.

We will be closed on Monday, Dec. 26, and will serve again on Wednesday.

Our December birthday dinner is on Friday, Dec. 30. Bring your family and friends as we celebrate all of our seniors born in December.

With this year almost over, and tax season on its way, we will be posing the days and times for the AARP tax people to be here. We will let you know, as soon as we know.

Our condolences to Marie Cowen’s family. Marie passed away earlier this month.

Our menu for the rest of the year is:

Friday, Dec. 23: soup and sandwiches

Monday, Dec. 26: we are closed

Wednesday, Dec. 28: spaghetti,

Friday, Dec. 30: roast beef.

Come in to the center and join your friends for some great food (you can’t beat the price) and fellowship. The pool table is always ready, there are books to exchange or borrow and the puzzle is waiting to be finished. We are open and serve a noon meal on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and you don’t have to be a senior to join us. We welcome people of all ages. After the first of the year the Monday afternoon bridge players will start meeting again and the crafts/painting group will start meeting again on Wednesday afternoons.
