LORRAINE WALSTON

Lorraine Walston of Ronan passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21 of natural causes. She was 95 years old. She was born on Sept. 18, 1921 in Chicago, Ill., to John and Rose Tichava. She attended school in both Berwyn and Hinsdale, Ill. After graduating, she worked in a war plant and later a chemical plant where she met and married her husband Wayne Walston. In 1951 they moved to Montana, west of Conrad, to run the family ranch. Two years later their son, Alan John was born. They farmed until moving into the town of Conrad in 1969. Lorraine enjoyed trips to Glacier National Park, reading, doing crossword puzzles and playing duplicate bridge. She had a huge heart for all animals but especially for her cats. She moved to Ronan in 1996 following the death of her husband, to be closer to her family. While in Ronan she was an active member of the Ronan Senior Center serving on the board. She is survived by her son Alan, daughter in law Tammy and grandchildren Bryce, Hayley and Ridge, nephew Dean Walston (Maryln), nieces Holly Sanchez (Mike) and Gail McKinnon (Greg Johnson). Services were held at the Conrad First Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, Dec. 28, with lunch following.
