Carly Hergett

Arlee’s Carly Hergett is doing just fine in her new role as a guard for the Scarlets. The 6’1” junior is one of six girls over 5’11” on the team. She has 124 points through 14 games and averages nine points per game. She also averages over five rebounds and three steals per game.

What stats can’t show is her ablity to be disruptive on defense and her presence on the offensive side of the court, which requires someone tall enough guard her underneath the basket and someone fast enough to keep with her as she dribbles down the court. Hergett also excells at volleyball and track as one of Lake County’s most impressive athletes.

Bill Von Holtum

The Mission Bulldogs haven’t had their best year, but as the season goes on, the Bulldogs get closer and closer to upsetting their opponents. Part of the reason for that is 6’4” senior Bill Von Holtum, who has been a solid force for the team throughout the year. He’s scored over 160 points through 13 games and ranks in the top ten scorers in the county. Von Holtum also played a crucial role in Mission’s first win of the season this past weekend against Eureka as a huge presence under the basket.
