Serious weather-related activity appears to be forecast as minimal for this weekend, since low chances of snow and other precipitation are expected according to the National Weather Service in Missoula.

Regionally speaking, a moist northwest flow will continue to support intermittent light snow and local accumulations up to about one inch Friday night in Western Montana, NOAA meteorologists said.

A slightly drier flow and air mass is forecast to set up over the northern Rockies Saturday with only a few flurries expected in this area.

Another weather disturbance is expected to saturate and cool the lower atmosphere Saturday night and into Sunday morning to support an uptick of snow flurries and intermittent light snow but should be less than a half inch of accumulation.

A northwesterly flow will persist over the northern Rockies on Monday which will keep the threat of light snow present for the start of the work week
