Liberty Agnes Dupuis Bowe

| June 9, 2016 1:50 PM

Liberty Dupuis (Bertie) Bower, age 96, passed away in Arizona on May 22. Bertie, as she was so well known, was born to Edwin and Clara Dupuis, January 2, 1920 at the family ranch in Pablo. She was the sister of Lester and Lyle Dupuis. Bertie grew up in Pablo, attended school in Ronan and was a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Nation.

She married Paul (Bogie) Bower in April of 1956. They had 57 wonderful years together and loved to play golf and got teased about their names being Bertie and Bogie and having “Kaddy Shack” for a license plate on their motor home and actually enjoyed the game of golf. Paul (Bogie) preceded Liberty (Bertie) in death, passing in January 2014.

Bertie was a popular hairdresser in the Plains and Polson area for many years before retiring. She is survived by three daughters, Myrna (Dick) Jakob, Kaye (Ken, deceased) Pomajevich, and Sherri (John) Seines. Nine grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will take place at the family home in Pablo later this summer. Messages of condolences may be shared with the family on line at: www.regencymortuary.com.
