26th Annual Ag Show a success in Ronan
Packed with vendors both inside and outside the Ronan Community Center, the 26th Annual Lake County Leader Ag Expo offered something for everyone who walked in the door.
Prizes, raffles, free artisan cheese samples, a chance to check up on health, check out a beautiful long-haired border collie or chat with a member of the Marine Corp, there was something for everyone.
Virginia Avala and Selene Perez, both 15-years old, stood in front on the Kicking Horse Job Corp Center. Both girls are from Colorado and lived at Kicking Horse for the majority of a year and both will graduate with a plan for the future in April.
Avala said that her experience at Kicking Horse was wonderful. Enrolled in the Facilities Maintenance Program, Avala said she lives in a dorm-style setting with about 35 other girls, all of which are at different places in their Kicking Horse experience.
When she graduates Avala plans to go back to Colorado and begin her new career.
Perez is nearly finished with the Pharmacy Technician program. Also from Colorado, Perez lives in a different girls dorm. She said saying goodbye to fellow students is not always easy, but that she is lucky to have social media outlets and other forms of communication she can use to stay connected.
Perez said that when she graduates from Kicking Horse, she plans to travel to New York and continue through the Job Corp program.
The girls were chosen to represent Kicking Horse at the trade show and were available to offer support and information about the Kicking Horse program.
