AnnaMae (Miller) Brander

| March 17, 2016 11:24 AM

AnnaMae (Miller) Brander, 82, of Proctor, Mont., went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 6. She was blessed to be able to spend her final days on earth being lovingly taken care of by her family at home. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, wonderful laugh, having the heart of a peacemaker and always putting others first.

AnnaMae was born Oct. 31, 1933, to Cecil and Myrtle (Summers) Miller in Portage County, Wis.  She grew up on the family farm and graduated in 1951 from PJ Jacobs high school in Stevens Point. She later attended North Central Bible Institute in Minneapolis, Minn., where she met the love of her life, a Montana farm boy, Daniel Brander.  They were married on June 29, 1957 and started their ministry as Assembly of God Pastors in Fennimore, Wis. Their call to ministry took them to Dan's beloved Montana in 1967, where they ministered in churches in Columbus and Eureka. Daniel and AnnaMae had four children; Bradley Ray, Bryan Jon, Bonnie Jean and Beverly Joy.

AnnaMae's life as a Pastor's wife and mother was filled with many opportunities to make meals for the homeless, hurting and forgotten. Her quiet ways and gift of hospitality (with amazing cooking talents) was appreciated greatly by her family, friends and churches.  She was a prayer warrior and faithfully read her Bible as she lived out her faith daily.  One of her greatest joys was listening to her grandchildren tell her about what was going on in their lives and sharing their gifts of music, artistic talents, academics and farming skills and watching her great grandchildren toddle around.  Her lap was always open and she gave the most amazing hugs.

AnnaMae is survived by her loving husband of nearly 59 years, Daniel; son, Bryan Brander of Whitefish; daughters, Bonnie Compton of Whitefish and Beverly Wehrman of Somers; daughter-in-law, Eva Brander, and sons-in-law, Steve Compton and Michael Wehrman; one sibling, David Miller of Monrovia, Calif.; and sister-in-law, Em Miller of Janesville, Minn., fourteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Bradley Ray; sisters, Dorothy Miller and Marjorie Frost; brother, Merwin Miller; brother-in-law, Roger Frost; and sister-in-law, Esther Miller, as well as other extended family members.
