Polson PD scam, prison system walk away
SCAM
Polson Police Department officials are warning area citizens of an ongoing telephone scam in which the caller identifies him or herself as a Polson Police Officer or Polson Police Deputy and asks citizens for money over the phone to pay for “past due child support and/or jury duty fees.”
Scammers are targeting elderly citizens who are commonly more vulnerable to scammers who demand money for a variety of different reasons.
Citizens are encouraged to hang up and are welcome to call the Polson Police Department about their experience.
In addition, the Polson Police would like to make you aware of a common fake check scam that targets those trying to sell things via the Internet. In this scheme, the potential buyer sends fraudulent money in exchange for your item.
