Ruth Wolf
Ruth Wolf, age 89, passed away on May 1 at her beloved home in Huson of natural causes.
Ruth arrived in Montana from Poughkeepsie, New York, as a bride in 1945. She was married to Paul G. Wolf for 63 years, until his death in 2008. The couple raised Angus cattle and a family of six children on their ranch in the Jocko Valley near Arlee for more than 25 years, before moving to Huson, Montana. Ruth was active in many endeavors in the Jocko Valley including the PTA, 4-H, and the Ladies Home Demonstration, teaching her four daughters and many others the skills she learned as a professional seamstress in New York. She was an active member of the Catholic Church. After moving to Huson in 1974, Ruth worked at the Frenchtown Schools as a cook until her retirement. After her retirement, she continued to cook for large crowds by donating her time to the Povarello Center in Missoula. Ruth loved to read, sew, roller skate, do puzzles, and watch the deer and hummingbirds on her property.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Wolf; parents Louis and Elizabeth Fellion; sisters Irene Griffin and Trudy Thomson, brothers Kenneth, Robert, and Theodore Fellion; daughter Elizabeth (Beth) Frolander and grandson Matthew Schilling.
She is survived and missed greatly by her children, Michele (Micki) Bahret (Gary), Carolyn Dobb (Jeff), Paul Wolf Jr. (Janet), David Wolf, and Ruth Ellen Wolf and sister June Cardinale and brother Donald Fellion. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service was held at her home in Huson, in accordance with her wishes.
