Polson FC U14 girls' soccer team wins two more
The Polson U14 soccer team traveled to Kalispell Saturday to play two games. The first game was against the Flathead Force, Polson jumped out to an early 2-0 lead scoring two goals in the first 9 minutes of play, both goals were scored by Ellie Maddy and assisted by Tia Mercer. The Force scored a goal two minutes later and the halftime score had Polson in the lead 2-1. Ellie scored another two goals in the second half, in the 52nd and 55th minutes. Sophia Moderie got the assist on the first one. The game ended with a Polson 4-2 win.
The second game ended with a 5-1 Polson victory over Helena Arsenal. Ellie Maddy again scored 4 goals in this game and Sophia Moderie had a goal and two assists. Megan Rost played both games at keeper and did a great job stopping some hard shots from both opposing teams while Nayeli Windauer and Aisha Clarke were both solid at their defensive positions.
Polson finished up the regular season 8-3-3, scoring 42 goals with only 25 against. There are two more tournaments left to play, 3 Blind Refs in Kalispell in two weeks and then one week after that State Cup in Great Falls.
