Patricia Margaret Salovich
Patricia Margaret Salovich, age 89, of Ronan, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 23, at St. Luke Community Hospital in Ronan, of natural causes. She was born on May 30, 1927 in Missoula to Robert and Gladys (Morigeau) Helean.
During the war years she was a “Rosie the Riveter” in a Tacoma, Wash., shipyard. When the war ended, she married and had two sons and one daughter. She married George in 1967 and enjoyed a round the world cruise in a steamship and many shorter voyages with husband George. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved flowers, gardening, fashion, art, interior decorating, gourmet cooking and her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gladys Morigeau Wilbur and Robert Helean and son David Essmyer, and sisters Phyllis McKenna and Thelma Kruse. Her survivors include husband George Salovich, grandsons Jesse Strang and Michael Essmyer, daughter Patricia Winneberger, son Chris Essmyer, brothers, Gerald Helean and Roy Wilbur and sisters Helene Koehler, Jean Diehl and Rosemary Fiorentino and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation was held from 5 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 27, with a vigil service at 6 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 28 with burial following at Lakeview Cemetery.
