LESTER R. JOHNSON

| November 10, 2016 11:45 AM

Lester R. Johnson, age 82, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 29, of natural causes at his residence in Polson. He was born on July 17, 1934 in McIntosh, Minn.

Following his high school graduation, he enlisted into the U.S. Army. After his discharge he moved to Conrad where he engaged in wheat farming. He became very active in the Lutheran Church where he met his wife Kaye. How few of us find our soul mate, I was one of the lucky ones and have been married 45 years on November 19. Lester’s 16-year-old daughter Vicki was joined by two brothers, Chad and Todd. After many years, Todd was killed in a farming accident, so the decision was made to move to the Flathead and live on the lake. Les didn’t know how to swim, but had such fun on his sailboat.

He had a gentle manner about him and I learned a lot from him just by spending time in his presence.

He was preceded in death by his son Todd, daughter Vicki and his brother Wesley. He is survived by his wife Kaye, his son Chad, granddaughters Heather and Ella, grandson Ben, his brother Gary (Candice) and sister Janice Rude (Jim).

Les has been cremated and will be buried at a later date with his wife. Graveside services will be at Conrad Cemetery in Conrad, Montana. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice. Memories and condolences may be sent to the family at www.thelakefuneralhomeandcrematory.com. Arrangements are under the direction of The Lake Funeral Home and Crematory.
