Arlee Scarlets roll in three-straight V-ball victories
ARLEE — The Arlee volleyball team won three consecutive matches this week against Two Eagle, Noxen and Hot Springs.

Mikayla Rieken finished with a total of eight aces. Goyins finished with one block and Ashley Tanner had 13 assists.
The Scarlets defeated Noxen Thursday night. Rieken finished with 15 assists. Goyins finished with seven kills, Eden Morin had three of the team’s 15 aces, Tomi Brazil had 10 assists, and Abby Yocum and Revis finished with a block each.
The Scarlets continued on their win streak with a victory over Hot Springs 25-22, 25-14, 24-26, and 25-22.
Goyins and Hergett finished with 11 kills. Hergett, Yocum and Rieken had two aces apiece. Morin led the team with 12 digs. Tanner finished with 18 assists and Natalie Yocum had one block in the victory.
According to Coach Lonie Morin, her team is “peaking” as they prepare to host districts in a couple of weeks.
“I think we are peaking with 42 kills, and that is a pretty big deal,” Morin said. “Against Hot Springs, it really shows that we are becoming more aggressive and making a lot more hustle plays. When you are swinging too aggressively, you tend to make more errors. Right now, we are playing the best volleyball these girls can play. They are doing everything that I am asking for and giving everything that they can give.”
The Scarlets will play their arch-rival Charlo Thursday night at Charlo.
“It’s going to be a good match, and it’s going to be tough, fast, and wild,” Morin said. “They handled it pretty well and they are really good at passing, setting and hitting.”
Morin said she is prepared against the Lady Vikings.
“They’ve switched up their defenses and offenses a lot,” Morin said. “To me it is not an issue because we know how they like to hit, know where their hitters hit best, and know where their hitters are going to be. Our team just has to stay organized and knowledgeable.”
