Volleyball Roundup: Lady Vikings sweep Hot Springs
CHARLO — The Charlo Lady Vikings volleyball team swept Hot Springs Saturday at Charlo High School.
The Lady Vikings swept Hot Springs 25-19, 25-11, 25-13.
Charlo amassed a cumulative total of 20 kills with Cheyenne Nagy leading the team in kills with nine. Kaitlin Cox contributed with eight kills.
Nagy also led the team in digs, amassing a total of 14 digs and Allie Delaney finished with nine digs.
Brooklyn Foust and Nagy combined for the Lady Vikings’ five blocks. Foust finished with three blocks and Nagy had two blocks.
Setter Teaira Truman led the team with 11 assists. Kaitlin Cox also contributed with five assists.
The Lady Vikings had a total of 21 aces. Teaira Truman led the team with nine aces and Cox accounted for another six in the victory.
Scarlets win three consecutive matches
The Arlee High School volleyball team has won three consecutive matches this week.
Arlee swept its first match against Mission 25-11, 25-20, 25-16 Tuesday at Arlee High School.
The Scarlets continued to accumulate double digits in aces. Eden Morin led the team with a total of five aces. Ashley Revis had seven of the team’s 25 kills.
Abby Yocum had four blocks. Setter Tomi Brazill led the team in assists with seven. Morin also accumulated eight digs.
Scarlets 3, Hot Springs 2
The Scarletts defeated Hot Springs in five 25-21, 21-25, 25-22, 15-25, 15-13 Thursday at Arlee High School.
Arlee accumulated 18 aces with Carly Hergett leading the team with seven.
Ashley Revis led Arlee with a total of 10 kills. The Scarletts accumulated a total of 42 kills in the match. Abby Yocum, Hergett, and Natalie Yocum each finished the match with one block. Setter Tomi Brazill finished with 17 total assists. Bryndle Goyins and Eden Morin combined for 37 of the team’s 65 total digs in the match.
In the Scarletts’ third match of the week, they defeated Noxon in four games 26-24, 21-25, 25-16, 25-21 Saturday at Noxon.
Goyins led with 11 kills, Mikayla Rieken had five of the team’s 16 aces, Hergett led the team with four blocks, Tomi Brazill finished with 14 assists, and Goyins finished with a team-leading 19 digs.
Lady Bulldogs fall in three matches
The Mission Lady Bulldogs lost three consecutive matches in the past week. The Lady Bulldogs traveled to Arlee High School and fell 11-25, 20-25, 16-25 on Tuesday.
Arrianna Rossi led the team in kills with eight. Sophia Tolbert led the team with 12 assists. Caitlyn Sorrell had five digs. Sophia Toblert finished with two aces and Ran’dee Charlo finished with a block.
The Lady Bulldogs then traveled to Anaconda and lost the match in three consecutive games 15-25, 17-25, 7-25 at the Quad Saturday.
Arianna Rossi led the team with five kills, Tolbert had three assists, Charlo had nine digs and led the team with two aces, and Rossi finished with two blocks.
The Lady Bulldogs lost their second match in the Anaconda Quad to Libby 14-25, 8-25, 12-25 Saturday afternoon at Anaconda High School’s Gymnasium.
Arianna Rossi and Afton Brander finished with two kills each. Rossi had five assists, and Charlo led the team with eight digs and an ace. Karolyna Buck and Arianna Rosee finished with two blocks apiece.
