KATHY ANN SKATES

Kathy Ann Skates, 65, of Polson, was embraced into the arms of the lord on March 29, with her family by her side.

Kathy was born and raised in Reserve, Montana and later became a proud “Bobcat”, graduating from Montana State University with her BSN. Kathy was a registered nurse and worked at St. Joseph Hospital for 10 years before opening Home Caregivers Inc. for the next 30 years.

Kathy’s main love in her life was family. She loved life to its fullest and her kindness, bright smile and giving soul brought peace and happiness to many family, friends and strangers.

Kathy is survived by her husband and soulmate Rick Skates of Polson; her daughter and son-in-law Major Natalie Farley and Lieutenant Colonel Scott Farley (U.S. Army); her only grandchild Teagann McKinley Farley; her brother and best friend Richard Pedersen of Everett, Wash.; and her father Maxwell Pedersen currently residing in Bigfork. She is preceded in death by her daughter Melissa Ann Skates and her mother Luella Pedersen who were awaiting her with loving arms in heaven.

A celebration of life and memorial service was held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on April 3 at 11 a.m., in Polson.
