A senior citizen’s views on vital topics of interest:
Anger, attack, violence, and ramping up fear through very questionable rhetoric were hallmarks of the Trump primaries and general election rallies. We are seeing increasing random-acts-of-violence, mainly by shootings, carried out by various mentally disturbed people. The powder-keg of repressed anger and fear in America has been tapped by Trump and we are experiencing its result. America must stay tuned, stay alert, and act.
Expanding on Donald Trump’s habitual damaging character traits, our POTUS is obviously unable and ill-prepared to speak and act reasonably and throughrully on any of our many international areas of concern. We can only hope and trust that his advisors are as qualified, honest and able as many say they are.
At this point it is absolutely impossible for our Republican executive and legislative branches of government to function well. To move from deeply divided partisan politics to effective bipartisan decision-making is our present challenge.
But it can happen. In fact it is already starting. Our powerful “We The People Movement” is alerting America to the inevitable shift coming in future elections. And this will affect local, state and federal positions. Change can often be somewhat nasty and upsetting, but the outcomes can be ‘healing to wholeness’.
