Tribe recognized for work against invasive species

During the Flathead Lakers annual meeting on Wednesday, July 26, the nonprofit recognized the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes for their work with preventing the spread of invasive species.

The Aquatic Invasive Species Team received the Stewardship Award, according to a press release from the organization’s office.

Three Flathead Lakers videos were shown, “Planting Buffers for Clean Water,” “Oil & Water Don’t Mix,” and “Be a Montana Superhero.”

The meeting was held at the Glacier Camp & Conference Center.

Flathead Lake Biological Station Director Dr. Jim Elser presented the annual State of the Lake Report.
