GERALD A. KOHNE

Gerald A. Kohne, 82, passed away on Dec. 23, 2016 after a long illness.

His survivors include his beloved wife, Darlyn (Lyn) Kohne of Dixon, four step-children, Leslie Ann Krecklow, Tracey Ellen Hansow, Joseph P. Moon, and Christopher Jon Moon, along with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Clemens and Evelyn Kohne of New Berlin, Wisconsin, a brother, James, of Muskego, Wisconsin, and a brother Arthur (Borchardt) Kohne of Redwood City, California.

Gerald (Jerry or Jer as his friends called him) served in the U. S. Army from 1957-1963, after which he returned to New Berlin, Wisc., and partnered with a friend, Red Keltesh, as K & K Erecting. In 1982 he and his wife, Lyn, moved to Dixon, a lifelong passion of Jer’s. He ran Dixon Welding and Machine Shop until his illness in 2014.

Jerry and Lyn had so many wonderful friends, all of whom would be impossible to include here. However, the family would like to thank some very special ones for their hours of help during Jerry’s illness: Gary and Sharon Hill of Ravalli, Dennis and Leanne Talbott of Dixon, Jack and Diane Breuer of Dixon, Walt Pickering of Paradise, and Roy Ardis of Plains, also, to a great group of guys who spent their weekends sawing, chopping and stacking firewood – thank you for your hard work!

A memorial is planned and will be announced at a later date.
