February is “I Love to Read” month, and here at the library we are celebrating with our annual Adopt-a-Book program. For $14, you can “adopt” a book for children or young adults to be added to our collection. The book you select will have a plaque placed inside with your personalized message. This is a wonderful way to honor a special person or event, or to remember a loved one. We have more than 40 books to choose from, but they do get “adopted” quickly, so be sure to stop by the Library circulation desk soon!

Tax time is here. If you are ready to do your taxes and are in need of booklets and forms, just stop by the library. We have 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ booklets and forms, as well as Montana Form 2 and 2EZ booklets. We only have a set amount, so if you need them, get them early! If you need other forms, you can print those from our public computers directly from the IRS website.

February 23 is Digital Learning Day. Stop by the library between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. to test drive some of our electronic resources. We will have staff available to help you learn how to use these products and services. Some of the services we will be demonstrating include Ancestry.com, Freegal Music, Montana Library2Go, and the Montana Newspapers website. We hope this will be an opportunity for everyone to learn more about the electronic services that the library offers.

Our Youth Services Librarian, Kendra, is now offering an evening “Bedtime Bounce” program. This is a wonderful opportunity for working parents to bring their children into the library. The program is held on Mondays at 6:30 p.m. PJs are welcome, and I hear toddler yoga is super fun! Kendra is also debuting a Saturday program Feb. 18. “Weekend Wigglers” will be held every other Saturday at 2 p.m. This promises to be a fun program for families!

We have several exciting programs in the works for this spring. Stay tuned for more details by visiting our website www.northlakecountylibrary.org and our Facebook page. Be sure to check the Community Announcements section of the Lake County Leader for updates on the happenings at the Library!
