GRETA E. DUNSMORE

Greta E. Dunsmore, 82, passed away in St. Ignatius on Feb. 12. She was born Aug. 24, 1934 in The Dalles, Ore. and raised by Norvil and Fay Cochran and Oren Turner. Greta lived in several different locations around Washington state growing up. She never finished a college degree but took classes at the local community college in subjects that pertained to her work. Bookkeeping was her first job and what she enjoyed the most. Greta being the amazing bookkeeper that she was worked at many different companies over the course of her life but a few companies stuck out in her mind; these two companies not only did she enjoy but worked for the longest, Desert Star Electric in Kennewick, Wash., and Walkner’s Trucking in Seattle. Greta was married twice, first to Delano C. Mathis of Port Angeles, Wash., and second to Earl Dunsmore of Seattle. Greta was a member of the Elks and American Legion. She loved helping with fundraisers.

Greta was preceded in death by her father Norvil Cochran and mother Fay Turner; sister June and brother-in-law Earl Wisner of Colville, Wash.; husbands Earl Dunsmore and Delano C. Mathis; son Richard C. Mathis. Greta is survived by her daughter Tammy (Fred) Matt; eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

A rosary was held on Feb. 15 at Foster Funeral Home in St. Ignatius. Mass was held on Feb. 16 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church. Condolences may be left at www.fosterfhandcrematory.com.
