Local communities to host spring hunter ed classes
Spring Hunter Education Classes have been scheduled for a number of communities in northwest Montana. All hunter education classes are free of charge. By state law, anyone born after Jan. 1, 1985, must have completed the course to buy a hunting license in Montana.
All students must register online at the FWP website: fwp.mt.gov; click education, then click hunter education. Detailed instructions will be found at each class site.
Polson/Ronan/Pablo: Classes will start Tuesday, March 7, in Room 118 of the Beaverhead Math and Science building on the Salish Kootenai College campus in Pablo. All classes will begin at 6:30 p.m. and end at 9:00 p.m. A parent or guardian must accompany students under 18 to the first class. This may be the only class offered this spring. Plains: Orientation night for the Plains Hunter Education be on Monday, March 6; it will begin at 6 p.m. at the Plains High School. Students will pick up their manuals and get course instructions. Classes will then meet at the high school beginning at 6 p.m. on March 27-31; field day will be Saturday, April 1 (Bowhunter education will start on April 3 with a similar schedule).
