Pirates sting Yellowjackets in non-conference win

POLSON — The Polson Pirates boys basketball team won its first game back from the winter break with a 58-44 non-conference victory over Stevensville Thursday night at Linderman Elementary Gymnasium.

The Pirates led the Yellowjackets 31-22 at halftime and sustained their momentum in the second half. In the third quarter the Pirates outscored Stevensville 12-7. Tanner Wilson led Polson in scoring with 19 points. J’Von Johnson was the Pirates other main contributor and finished the night with 16.

Lady Pirates capture first win of the year over Stevi

The Polson Lady basketball team got its first victory of the season with a 50-43 victory over Stevensville Thursday night at Stevensville High School.

The Lady Pirates had contributions from leading scorers Lauren Lefthand. Lefthand finished with a team-leading 21 points and Kaelyn Smith finished with 15. Mollie Fisher scored nine.
