Ronan center hosting pork roast
By LINDA SCHOON
For the Lake County Leader
Well the month is almost half over and it’s still cold out there. The cold is messing with my brain, and I forgot to do the column last week and almost forgot it this week.
Don’t forget our pork roast dinner Thursday We serve at 5:30 p.m., and the cost is only $5 per person. Our cooks always do a great job, and you will not get a better meal at a better price. Besides, who wants to be stuck home cooking.
Cards will be played here at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16. Come on in and join the Pinochle players and have a little fun. If you don’t play pinochle, perhaps you can get a different card game going, like cribbage.
The foot clinic is from 10 a.m. until noon on Wednesday, Jan. 18. There is not a charge for this, but they will gladly accept donations. This is one of the many services offered through the Lake County Council on Aging.
The Monday bridge players are meeting again, at 1 p.m. The painting/craft group is also meeting on Wednesday afternoons. Feel free to join any of the activities here at the Center.
The AARP tax people will be here, starting on the first Friday in February. Give us a call (676-2371) and we will get you set up with an appointment. There is no charge for this, but donations to the Center are always helpful.
Our menu is as follows:
Wednesday, Jan. 11: goulash
Thursday, Jan. 12: pork roast
Friday, Jan. 13: scalloped potatoes and ham
Monday, Jan. 16: lasagna
Wednesday, Jan. 18: pork chops
Friday, Jan. 20: tuna noodle casserole.
Come on in and join us for food, fun and fellowship. We are located at 520
Main St SW, right across from the hospital. We serve lunch at noon on
Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The cost of these meals is $4 if you are age 60 or older, and $5 if you are under 60.
Have a great week, and let’s hope that it warms up.
