Polson gets ready to host fourth-annual Mud Run

Lowell Tyler said he already has a “significant amount” of people registered for the Fourth Annual Mud Run that will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Polson Fairgrounds.
The Mud Run will include a three-mile obstacle course with running, canoeing, monkey bars, rope swings, rope climbs, and salmon ladder among several others.
Last year, the mud run drew around 100 contestants and all of the proceeds will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Polson.
“(Last year) we had 100 people and we would like to get 500 people,” Lowell said.
Lowell said his internet registration is “significantly up.”
“I would like to see it grow significantly over a whole year,” Lowell said. “If not, I’ll probably make a mass donation. I put about 300 hours into it this and thus far, we have people that have registered from New Jersey, Washington, Utah, and Arizona that are scheduling a vacation around this race.”
Participants will go out in heats of 10 when the race begins. There will be no specific age groups or prizes. Kids 12 and under will run with an adult and will have a $25 entry fee. Adults will have a $40 entry fee.
