Keith Orville Nelson

Keith Orville Nelson, 85, of Polson, Montana, died peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, July 5 with Jeri (Morigeau) Nelson, his wife of 65 years, by his side.

Keith was born November 28, 1931 to Naomi and Frank Nelson at Crow Agency, Montana. He graduated from Dixon High School in Dixon, Montana in 1951 after which he served his country during the Korean War. Keith earned a degree in Civil Engineering from Montana College, now Montana State University in 1960.

His career took Keith and his family to California, Bozeman and Miles City, Montana, and South Dakota where he served as State Soil Conservation Engineer for 16 years.

After retiring, Keith and Jeri returned to Montana settling in Polson where they enjoyed spending time with family at their lake cabin, traveling with friends at the Dixon Senior Citizen’s Center and savoring the lake and mountain views from their hillside home.

Keith is preceded in death by his parents Naomi and Frank Nelson, two brothers Frank and Jerry Nelson and four sisters including Francis Davis, Phyllis Rylander, Lola Bert Morin and Audrey Munn. He is survived by his wife Jeri, at the family home, brother Boyd (Sandy) Nelson of Libby, Montana, four children including Coral Kathy Tapia, Dale (Kris) Nelson, Jolene (Larry) Gauthier and Monty Nelson and numerous grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren.

Keith was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandpa and will be greatly missed by his family. At his request, there will be no service.
