BEDTIME BOUNCE AT THE LIBRARY

SOUP’S ON SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

LIONS CLUB SEEKING VOLUNTEERS

In a measure to achieve better vision for children throughout Lake County, Polson Lions Club has purchased new vision screening equipment. The club is volunteer-run, and offers free screenings in local schools, for children age 4 through high school. In an effort to staff this rewarding venture, the club is seeking more volunteers. Please join the Lions Club at their bi-monthly meetings for more information, or call (406) 407-2367. The next meeting will be held at the Lake Bar on June 5 at 6 p.m., subsequent meetings are held the first and third Monday of each month, and are always open to the public.

BIG ARM POTLUCK

The Big Arm association will host a potluck Friday June 9 at the Big Arm historic School at 6 p.m.

There will be a potluck meal and guest speaker, Hilary Devlin. The Outreach Coordinator for the Flathead Lakers Organization will be speaking about what everyone can do to help keep our beautiful Flathead Lake pristine and healthy. We will learn about all the new steps that Montana is taking to keep aquatic invasive species out of Flathead Lake. Bring a favorite dish to share for our meal at 6 p.m. and Hilary’s presentation at 7 p.m. For more information, call Nancy or Jeff Foster at 849-5064.

DUTCH OVEN COOKING CLASS

The Ronan Area Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee is hosting their second annual Dutch Oven Cooking Class and Dutch Oven Cook Off.

Join us June 10 at the Ronan Visitor Center on Highway 93 for the Dutch Oven Cooking Class. The class begins at 9:30 a.m. Put your Dutch Oven cooking skills to use at our Dutch Oven Cook Off during the Harvest Festival in Ronan on Saturday, September 16.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS

Polson Rotary Club is offering Rotary Youth Leadership Academy scholarships to attend the RYLA Camp near Livingston, Montana July 11-15.

The scholarships are available to current high school freshmen that exemplify strong leadership skills. The tuition is paid by Polson Rotary. The Rotary Club will be conducting interviews and selecting candidates by May 1.

POKER PADDLE

Paddle for Clean Water in the 3rd Annual Poker Paddle on Sunday July 9.

Bring your kayak, canoe, paddleboard or other human-propelled watercraft and join us in the Narrows on Sunday, July 9! Last year’s event sold out so register now! Early bird registration is available now on the Flathead Lakers website: www.flatheadlakers.org until May 31. Registration closes June 30.

Limited to first 150 paddle craft, participants start from Kings Point and choose a short (1.6-mile), middle (3.6-mile), or extended distance (5+ miles) course stopping at island stops and collecting a playing card at each location.
