The Board of Lake County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on June 29, 2017 at 10:30 am at 106 4th Avenue East, Room 211, Polson, MT, for the purpose of taking public comment on the Commissioners Resolution of Intention to Create Emory Road/Addy Lane Rural Improvement District, as written below. The Commissioners will take written or email (lakecommissioners@lakemt.gov) comments up until that time. RESOLUTION 17-14 RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO CREATE EMORY ROAD/ADDY LANE RURAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF LAKE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS: 1. That a majority of the benefitted landowners adjacent to the district have submitted petitions in favor of creating a rural improvement district for Emory Road/Addy Lane. The District created will be called the Emory Road/Addy Lane Road Rural Improvement District (R.I.D.). 2. The District boundaries shall include those benefitted properties bordering Emory Road from the intersection of Canal Road to the intersection of Addy Lane, and all of Addy Lane, a distance of approximately two miles. 3. That the assessment of costs shall be divided on a per lot basis among the landowners in the district at approximately $1,692 per lot. 8. The landowners will be given a pre-payment period until September 29, 2017 to pre-pay the $1,692 per lot assessment cost. If pre-payments do not cover the total cost of the project, the Commissioners may sell bonds or may choose to finance the project in-house at a rate of 5% annually. 9. That the remainder needed to be financed shall be levied and assessed as tax on the benefitted properties that have not prepaid their assessment beginning in tax year 2017 not to exceed five years. 10.
