GERALD EVERETT RASMUSSEN

Gerald Everett Rasmussen, 73, of Polson, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 18. Gerald was born on Dec. 19, 1944 in Hamilton, a son of the late David E. and Hazel Pearl Rasmussen. He attended local schools in the Corvallis school system. In 1963, he married Dian Jacobson in Hamilton. Gerald loved being with his farm animals and named all the new calves while the baby pigs always brought him a smile. He passed his love of animals on to his grandchildren teaching them how to feed and he always made sure that there where baby ducks, turkeys, and chickens for them to learn about. Gerald was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had worked for Safeway in Polson for over 13 years as the manager and butcher in the meat department.

In addition to his parents, Gerald is also preceded in death by a brother, Dean Rasmussen. Surviving Gerald is his loving wife, Dian; two sons, Mark, and Todd and his wife, Renae; grandchildren, Eric, Aaron, and Makayla, and two great-grandchildren, Max and Makenzie.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 2, 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Polson Chapel. Interment will take place on Friday, March 3, 11 a.m. at the Riverview Cemetery in Hamilton.
