ST. JOSEPH BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUP

A Bereavement Support Group for grieving adults began meeting on Thursday, January 19. This eight-week series is open to the public, meeting every Thursday until March 9 from 12:30-2:00 PM in the O’Malley conference room on the second floor of St. Joseph Medical center. CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

A support group for anyone affected by cancer meets regularly from noon to 1 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Polson. The group gathers on the second and fourth Mondays of each month at the church located at 301 16th Ave. East.

LIBRARY TO HOST “WEEKEND WIGGLERS”

North Lake County Public Library in Polson has begun hosting a new program called Weekend Wigglers, featuring books, crafts, games, and fun for all. This one-hour activity for school-aged kids will be held every other Saturday from 2-3 p.m. in the library meeting room.

POLSON PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH FREE DINNER

The March Friendship Table Dinner is coming up on March 10 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Polson Presbyterian Church is located across from the Linderman School. Come join us! This dinner is free and open to all.

LAKE COUNTY PACHYDERM CLUB MEETING

Tom Bansak, aquatic ecologist and Assistant Director at the Flathead Lake Biological Station, will be the featured speaker at the Friday, March 10 meeting of the Lake County Pachyderm Club beginning at noon at the Polson Rural Fire Department Building on Regatta Road.

The title of his talk is “Shrimp, Salmon, Trout and Mussels: Invasive Seafood Chowder in Flathead Lake.” Come to hear about the changes that have occurred in Flathead Lake over the last 100-plus years, and what we can do to prevent the mussels from getting here and changing it forever.

HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR CONCERT

High School Choir Concert will be March 16 at 5:45 p.m.

The Ronan High School Band Concert will follow on March 16th at 7 p.m.

AMERCIAN LEGION TO MEET IN RONAN

The American Legion Post No. 138 of Ronan will be meeting March 15 at 7:00 p.m. in room 16 of the Ronan High School. New members are welcome. For more information, call Jack Fay at 676-3380 or Glen Sharbono at 210-2607.

FAMILY SCIENCE NIGHT

K. William Harvey Elementary in Ronan will host Family Science Night March 16 from 5-7 p.m. Come enjoy hands-on activities with SpectrUM, Ronan Robotics, SKC Science Departments, AISES and CSKT Tribal Health. Make slime, dig for gems, perform dissections and loads of other “scientific” things. Family Science night is another fun, family event sponsored by Ronan PTA

ST. IGNATIUS KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

The St. Ignatius School District No. 29 will be having kindergarten registration Tuesday, March 21 from 8:30 a.m. until noon and 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. Students must be 5-years-old by Sept. 10. Parents are asked to bring the student, the student’s birth certificate, immunization record, proof of residency (electric bill), tribal enrollment papers and any applicable custody papers. The students will be given a shot assessment test. Paperwork will need to be filled out by a legal guardian. For more information, call 745-3811 ext. 3.

RONAN HIGH SCHOOL PLAY

“The Tale of Robin Hood, as told by Ronan High School” will be performed at the Ronan Performing Arts Center on March 23 and 24, 2017 at 7:00 p.m.

If you liked last year’s “The Princess Bride”, you will surely enjoy this lighthearted story of Robin Hood and his “band of merry individuals.” Tickets will be sold at the door.

BEDTIME BOUNCE AT THE LIBRARY

NAVY BAND NORTHWEST TO APPEAR IN POLSON

Commander Navy Region Northwest announces a Navy Band Northwest appearance in Polson Friday, March 24. Navy Band Northwest’s Brass Quintet will perform at the North Lake County Library. The performance begins at 1:30 p.m. Please see the event on our Facebook page for updates or changes.

YOUTH LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS

Polson Rotary Club is offering Rotary Youth Leadership Academy scholarships to attend the RYLA Camp near Livingston, Montana July 11-15.

The scholarships are available to current high school freshman that exemplify strong leadership skills. The tuition is paid by Polson Rotary. The Rotary Club will be conducting interviews and selecting candidates by May 1.
