Ronan senior center to offer meals, tax help

Well, I finally made it home. In four days time, we drove about 3,000 miles. Can you imagine how long it took the pioneers and wagon trains to go that far? I’m sure glad that I didn’t have to travel like that.

Our St. Patrick’s day dinner is on Wednesday, March 15. This is so we can observe Lent here at the Center.

AARP volunteers are still doing taxes here at the Center every Wednesday (except the 22nd). Call the Center at 676-2371 to schedule an appointment.

The Bridge players are meeting at 1 pm on Mondays. The Monday evening pinochle players meet at 7 p.m. March 20. Both card groups need more players. If you want to join either group, just show up and play.

Painting/crafts have been put on hold until after tax season is over, as they both use the same space.

Senior commodities are out next week, and can be picked up Tuesday after 2 p.m. and all day Wednesday. Call 676-2368 for more information.

The COA is always in need of volunteer drivers to take people to medical appointments and shopping. Those interested in being a driver or about arranging a trip can call 676-2368. They also provide housekeeping services and a host of other services.

Our menus for the next two weeks:

Friday, March 17: tuna mac casserole,

Monday, March 20: cook’s choice,

Wednesday, March 22: Brunswick stew,

Friday, March 24: salmon filets,

Monday, March 27: bacon wrapped meatloaf,

Wednesday, March 29: beef stroganoff

Friday, March 31: roast beef birthday dinner.

Our tidbit of the week: Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

Have a great week, and let’s all hope the spring gets here soon.
