LARRY ROY “STOKER” STOKES

Larry Roy “Stoker” Stokes, 76, passed away at his home near Ronan on March 8.

Born in Tremonton, Utah on April 26, 1940 to Nellie Jean Brown Stokes and Roy Joseph Stokes, he was raised and educated in the Mission Valley. He married Beverly Ann Ingraham and Cheryl McCoy.

When he wasn’t hunting or fishing, which he loved to do, he was a mechanic and logger working in Seeley Lake as well as Forks and Beaver, Wash. He later retired to Ronan, where he lived in the Mission Meadows Trailer Court.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, a grandson, and daughter Shiela Kay.Survivors include children Donald Roy, David Ray (Klista), Stacey Cory; siblings Jolene “Jodi” McNeeley, Ruth (Jerry) Maiers, Faye Langley, Lloyd (Pearl) Stokes, Leathy (Carl Hanson), Sadie Jean Young, Joseph (Wanda) Stokes, Roxie (Charlie) Cordis, Richard “Dick” Stokes, Jerry Ray Stokes, & James Leo (Frances) Stokes; numerous grandchildren, cousins, nieces and nephews Aunt Doris Matz, Aunt Pearl Dielman, and a few good neighbors.

At his request cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to a children’s charity of your choice.
