We the People will prevail
Our running of the government, right now, is a most interesting process. We obviously have a president who places his own performance as paramount and the good of the nation somewhere in the “back seat”.
But in our democracy, as it operates in America, this is not a huge problem. Our system of checks and balances, freedom of speech, “We the People” power being real and important, and our properly held elections will prevail. Our nation will move forward despite this “glitch of gross glorification” held personally by our present POTUS.
The rejection of the Republicans attempt at passing a new health care bill is the perfect example. In town hall meetings, marches, phone calls and letters, “We the People” let our legislators know where we stand on health care. And it did not help the GOP that its fractured party had cobbled together a fractured bill. America, in general, was having none of it.
We can thank heavens for our open and free democracy. This is just my own personal take on all this and I feel so fortunate in being able to openly express all this without fear of incarceration or worse.
