Lady Vikes tracksters excel at KHL Invite

The Charlo Lady Vikings’ 4X100 relay team captured first place with a time of 52.82 seconds at the Kim Haines Memorial track meet Saturday at Frenchtown High School.

The Lady Vikes relay team, consisting of Kaitlin Cox, Allie Delaney, Tyrah Hammond, and Kara Tatukivei, defeated a Seeley-Swans team that came a close second with 53.04 seconds.

The Arlee Scarlets’ 4X100 relay team finished behind Seeley-Swan and their rival to finish third. Cera Strumpfer, Emily Fiddler, Bryndle Goyins, Carly Hergett, and Ashley Revis finished with a time of 54.47 seconds.

The Ronan Maidens’ team finished fourth with a time of 5 minutes, 2.19 seconds. The team consists of Kinsley Barney, Sacorra Reum, Penni Weyant, and Ashley McCready.

Hammond finishes in the top 10 at KLH

Charlo Lady Vikings runner Tyrah Hammond finished 8th in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.52 seconds at the Kim L. Haines Memorial track meet Saturday at Frenchtown High School.

Hammond’s time was a personal record. St. Regis’ Madison Hill was the winner of the event with a personal record of 12.78 seconds.

Hammond finished fourth in the 200-meter dash out of 30 participants. Hammond set a personal record with a time of 27.91 seconds.

Buck finishes 8th in 400

Mission High School runner Karolyna Buck finished eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1 minutes, 6.48 seconds.

Scarlets Yocum wins 800, 1600

The Arlee High School Scarlets distance-runner Natalie Yocum placed first in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 5 minutes, 38.72 seconds.

Mission’s Karolyna Buck finished 12th in the 1600 with a time of 6 minutes, 1.87 seconds.

Yocum finished third in the 800 recording a time of 2 minutes, 27.71 seconds.

McCready finishes second in the 3200 meters

Ronan distance runner Ashley McCready finished second in the 3200 with a time of 12 minutes, 57 seconds.

Lady Vikes finish in top 5 in 100 hurdles

The Charlo Lady Vikings’ runners Allie Delaney and Kaitlin Cox finished fourth and fifth in the 100-meter hurdles in Frenchtown.

Delaney set a PR. recording a time of 17.01 seconds and Cox PRed with a time of 17.16 seconds.

Camel, Lammerding finish in top 10 in shot put

Ronan High School’s Lee Camel and Arlee’s Peyton Lammerding both had top-10 finishes in the shot put.

Camel’s throw of 34 feet, 11 inches was enough to secure her in the top 5 of her field. Powell County’s Ariel Clark had the winning throw of 37 feet, 4.50 inches.

Scarlets’ Lammerding finished 10th with a throw of 30 feet.

McCrea finished in the top 10 in the discus

Ronan High School’s Micalann McCrea PRed with a throw of 109 feet, 9.50 inches in the discus.

Plains’ thrower Jessica Thompson threw 124 feet, 5 inches to capture first place in the large pool of throwers.

Goyins finishes top 10 in jav

Arlee High School javelin thrower Bryndle Goyins PRed with her seventh place finish in the javelin. Goyins’ throw of 110 feet, 3 inches was enough to land her in the top 10. Seeley-Swan’s Alex Bohlman’s 144, 1 inches won the competition.

McCrea captures 4th in pole vault

Charlo’s Taylor McCready finished in the top 5 in pole vault at Frenchtown High School.

McCready cleared the height of 8 feet, 6 inches, a new personal record. Seeley-Swan’s Cera Strumpfer won the event clearing a distance of 9 feet, 10 inches.

Cox, Yocum, Tatukivei finish in the top 10 in triple jump

Charlo High School Kaitlyn Cox PRed to finish sixth in the triple jump leaping to 32 feet, 11.50 inches.

Scarlet jumper Yocum finished ninth with a 32 feet, .25 inches and Kara Tatukivei finished 10th with a jump of 31 feet, 3 inches.
